The original Lone Star opened at 26 Manchester Street on Sep 13, 1988
It all started in 1988 with two mates, a love of ribs, and a restaurant in Christchurch. Now with 25 Lone Stars across New Zealand, we’re New Zealand’s best-loved place for a warm welcome and a hearty meal of delicious Lone Star classics.

Our original menu was a combination of Kiwi classics
When the first Lone Star opened at 26 Manchester Street on September 13, 1988, it was out with pompous, nouvelle cuisine and in with the idea that eating out should be fun and value for money. A legend was born.
Lassoo of Hog®, Dixie Chicken®, Jonny Stash and the iconic Redneck Ribs® remain on the menu to this day.
